The Creative Quilters’ Guild of Dayton, Ohio began in 1982 for people of all levels of quilting ability from beginner to prize-winning experts and all areas of quilting interest from hand-quilted traditional to contemporary art quilt.  Our current membership of about 66 includes a few of our charter members, quilting instructors both local and national, members whose quilts have been published, as well as a whole new crop of beginners!  Besides our monthly meetings with programs of educational content, we also have technique workshops throughout the year, charity quilting outreach programs and our annual retreat.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

1. •  To share interest in quilts and quilting.
   

2. •  To encourage and maintain high standards of design, technique and creativity.
   

3. •  To instruct the membership in methods and techniques of quilting.
   

4. •  To promote the study of historical sources of quilts and quilting.
   

5. •  To preserve the art of quilting.
   

6. •  To stimulate interest in quilting.
